FACILITATORS X 2 PART-TIME POSTS
THE COMPANY
Involve CLG, is a community youth work organisation based in Athlone,
Co Roscommon. We are currently developing our services to ensure young
people from the Traveller and Roma Communities are being actively
encouraged to participate in mainstream youth services.
Following the successful development of the STATUS (Supporting
Traveller Advance through Universal Services), a development tool to
support organisations to increase the engagement, participation and
retention of Traveller Youth in their Projects, Involve now wish to
recruit two facilitators to support the continued roll out of the
Toolkit across mainstream Youth services.
THE POST
The facilitators will work with the coordinator to offer support to
organisations participating in the STATUS Toolkit. They will present
the Toolkit to organisations and will offer to attend meetings to
ensure progress is being made by organizations participating.
This is a challenging position requiring an understanding of Traveller
history and culture, community development principles, the ability to
work on own initiative, sensitivity to the participating organisations
and experience in all aspects of project management.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
* Knowledge of the Traveller Community
* Willingness to become an accredited trainer/facilitator
* A relevant qualification in training, facilitation, coaching or
mentoring
* Experience of working to the principles of community development.
* Experience in event organising and management.
* High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite,
* He/she must be highly motivated with excellent organisational
skills and have the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a
team.
* Be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable
prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
* Be of good character.
* Flexibility to work unsocial hours is essential.
* Full driving licence & access to vehicle essential.
THE KEY FUNCTIONS OF THIS POST FALL UNDER THE FOLLOWING BROAD
HEADINGS:
* Organising, facilitating and delivering training to management,
staff and volunteers of mainstream Youth work organisations.
* Provide a level of administrative, organisational and IT support
throughout all training events
* Build relationships with mainstream organisations to ensure
successful outcomes.
* Providing high quality written materials to support programmes and
activities, ensuring up-to-date research, information and good
practice evidence is integrated into continuous professional
development activities and programmes.
* Utilising effective evaluation approaches to inform participants,
clients and commissioners of professional development activity.
* Developing and maintaining appropriate administrative quality
control systems.
* Operating within an equal Opportunities Framework and promote
equality issues in all aspects of training and development provision.
* Identifying funding opportunities to develop the training aspect
of NFSN?s work
* Preparing reports on all aspects of National Family Support
Network training for the organisation?s Annual Report
* Other duties as required
The position will be offered to the successful candidates on a 1 year
contract basis, with a six-month review and is subject to funding.
